For us, wine is a story. It is a place. It is a memory.
We are not building an estate around the idea of producing wine for everyone. We want to create wines for people who appreciate authenticity over fashion, craftsmanship over mass production, and the story behind a bottle as much as what is inside it.
Our first audience will include people who already understand and appreciate fine wine, but our vision goes beyond experienced wine drinkers. We want to introduce curious people to the idea that India can produce wines with a genuine sense of place.
Fine dining will be an important part of our future. We hope to see Château Aarav wines alongside carefully considered food at luxury hotels, chef's tables, premium restaurants and selected wine bars.
We also hope to build relationships with wine professionals—including sommeliers, wine educators, collectors and others who spend their lives studying and understanding wine. Their knowledge, curiosity and feedback will be an important part of our journey.
For collectors, limited production is not simply about scarcity. It is about owning something that represents time, patience and a particular place. As Château Aarav develops, we hope our wines will become part of collections built around stories rather than volume.
Then there are the travellers.
“We are not making wine for everyone. We are making wine for those who value the journey behind every bottle.”
One of our greatest ambitions is to create an estate that people want to experience, not simply visit for a tasting. We imagine guests walking through the vineyard, looking across the Eastern Himalayan landscape, discovering the cellar and understanding how a bottle begins with the land.
Pedong and the wider Kalimpong region already offer a remarkable combination of mountains, forests, culture and natural beauty. We hope Château Aarav will eventually become part of that experience—not as something separate from the landscape, but as a way of experiencing it differently.
As our estate matures, we also hope to introduce Château Aarav to selected international markets. There is a growing curiosity around wines from emerging regions, and we believe the Eastern Himalayas have a story worth bringing to the wider world.
But our ideal customer is not defined only by where they live, what they earn, or how much they know about wine.
It is defined by curiosity.
Someone who wants to know where a wine came from. Someone who cares about how it was made. Someone who appreciates the patience behind a young vineyard and the people who dedicate their lives to understanding it.
That is the community we hope to build around Château Aarav.
People who do not simply open a bottle to drink it, but pause for a moment to understand the land, the season and the story behind it.
Because when someone eventually opens a bottle of Château Aarav, we want them to experience more than a wine.
We want them to feel a connection to the place where it began.
